Healthcare Technology Company Brings Scalable, Comprehensive and Clinically-Validated Personalized Support to Those Navigating a Complex Care System

November 25, 2024 – Seattle, WA – Magnolia, a healthcare technology startup dedicated to empowering older adults with chronic conditions, and their family caregivers, today announced an oversubscribed $3.5 million seed round. Led by Village Global, the round includes participation from Coyote Ventures, Magnify Ventures, Prufrock Ventures, Tokio Marine Future Fund, Unseen Capital, and Vest Her Ventures. This funding will support Magnolia’s expansion into new markets, fuel the development of proprietary artificial intelligence that personalizes caregiver support at every stage of the care journey, and deepen partnerships with healthcare providers.

Magnolia’s platform meets families at critical moments, especially following a new diagnosis of a chronic condition such as dementia, to provide wraparound support and resources in the home. Through partnerships with leading health systems, Magnolia connects older adults and their caregivers with essential services and guidance when it’s needed most. These partnerships ensure families have access to care that extends beyond the clinic, helping them navigate the often-overwhelming healthcare system with confidence and ease.

Support can include helping families learn techniques for addressing difficult behavioral symptoms, coordinate community services like respite care, or access therapeutic resources like support groups and counseling. Additionally, Magnolia has been accepted into the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS’) new G.U.I.D.E Model, an innovative model of caregiver-focused support services including care navigation, respite services, and training for Medicare beneficiaries.

“This funding is a pivotal step in bringing Magnolia’s vision to life,” said Elisabeth Tarullo, CEO of Magnolia. “For too long, family caregivers have been delivering care without strong support from our healthcare system and providers have had few options to meet the unique needs of patients’ families. By collaborating closely with healthcare providers and leveraging the power of a technology platform, we’re able to provide seamless, ongoing support that is tailored to each family’s needs, ensuring they receive timely, personalized guidance right at home.”

Magnolia’s proprietary AI technology is designed to offer customized guidance for family caregivers, adapting over time to the specific challenges and evolving needs of the caregiving journey. By integrating with electronic health record systems, Magnolia’s platform enables seamless coordination between providers and caregivers, making health management more effective and less stressful.

Magnolia’s unique approach leverages AI-powered insights and tailored guidance, helping caregivers make informed decisions and access resources that alleviate the emotional and logistical burden of caregiving.

With fresh funding and robust partnerships with healthcare providers, Magnolia is poised to bring life-changing resources and support to caregivers and older adults nationwide, delivering timely, personalized guidance through proprietary AI technology.
